1st Marriage

Mary of Magdalene (Magdala) was from a fishing/trading town on the Sea of Galilee.  She is thought to be a Jew and to have been well aware of Greek/Hellenistic ways.

The Church bible

bulletwrites her out as an Eve/sinner equivalent from whom one can learn penitence
bulletalways refers to her as the first among of the women with Jesus
bulletreference to her on her own is as the 'discoverer' of Jesus after the crucifixion.

Dr. Thiering has quite a different reading of her role.

The name "Mary" is a title, not a name, and is derived from the name of Moses' sister, Miriam, which also signifies a prophetess/ person who took part in the liturgies.

Jesus' second (binding) marriage to Mary Magdalene (after a trial marriage) took place at midnight, March 18, 33 AD when she was three months pregnant just a few days before the crucifixion.

Upon a schism of the early church in 44 AD, Mary remained with the eastern side/zealots and Jesus elected to remarry (Lydia in 50 AD).
